Harrison School District is seeking a Head Boys Basketball Coach for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) 9-12 teaching/coaching position. The ideal candidate will lead the program, focusing on player and program development, strategic game management, and fostering a competitive, positive culture. Candidates should have a strong background in coaching, preferably at the high school or collegiate level, and be able to manage all aspects of the program, including summer opportunities for elementary through high school grades. Classroom teaching opportunities include Driver's Ed, Physical Education, ISS, ALE, and Social Studies.

The successful candidate will be a student-centered professional who will fulfill the following Job Requirements:
- Leadership: Manage basketball program, develop team strategy, and oversee/mentor basketball coaches. Experience: Proven experience coaching basketball, with high school or collegiate experience
- Player Development: Focus on skill development, team discipline, and academic success.
- Program Culture: Build a positive, competitive environment for student-athletes.
- Administrative Duties: Collaborate with the Athletic Director in scheduling games, managing purchases, and promoting a positive, coordinated summer basketball activity schedule.
- Instructional Leadership & Curriculum: Create and deliver specialized instruction motivating students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation per each pupil's ability; and demonstrate experience in examining, interpreting, and using student assessment data.
- Classroom Environment & Management: Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; and ensure strong student engagement.
- Communication & Collaboration: Formulate positive relationships with parents, students, and other staff members; and demonstrate effective communication within the school community.
- Technology & Operations: Effectively use Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital resources (e.g., Canvas, Google Classroom); and develop and maintain required paperwork.
Harrison School District is seeking an individual who meets the following criteria:
Required Qualifications Licensure:
- Must possess appropriate Arkansas DESE certification. Status:
- Must possess Arkansas Qualified Teacher (HQT) status.
- Certifications: CDL or the ability to obtain one.
- Professional Background: Previous experience required; candidates should have a strong background in coaching, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Skills: Knowledge of effective instruction and disaggregation of data, and display excellent people skills.
- Technology: Willingness to attain or possess Google Level One Certification.
