Description
Harrison School District is seeking a Secondary English Teacher position for the 2026/2027 school year. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) 9-12 teaching position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and delivering specialized instruction aligned with ELA standards, and for fostering a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.

Position Focus and Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a student-centered professional who will fulfill the following Job Requirements:
  • Instructional Leadership & Curriculum: Create and deliver specialized instruction following ELA standards; motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation per each pupil's ability; and demonstrate experience in examining, interpreting, and using student assessment data.
  • Classroom Environment & Management: Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth; establish effective rapport with pupils; and ensure strong student engagement.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Formulate positive relationships with parents, students, and other staff members and demonstrate effective communication within the school community.
  • Technology & Operations: Effectively use Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital resources (e.g., Canvas, Google Classroom); and develop and maintain required paperwork.
Minimum Qualifications and Desired Attributes:  Harrison School District is seeking an individual who meets the following criteria:
  • Required Qualifications
  • Licensure: Must possess appropriate Arkansas DESE certification.
  • Status: Must possess Arkansas Qualified Teacher (AQT) status.
  • Previous experience is preferred but not required.
  • Willingness to attain or possess Google Level One Certification.
