Harrison School District is accepting applications for a Middle School/Asst. High School Band Director for the 2024-2025 school year. The position will be a full time (1.0 FTE)

This teaching position is within the Harrison Middle School and Harrison High School.  Primary duties will focus on grades 7-12 and Band/Music Standards.  Applicants must possess appropriate Arkansas DESE certification. Previous experience is preferred, but not required. 
 
Harrison Middle School is seeking an individual who will:

• Oversee all aspects of the Middle School Band Program with assistance from the High School Director and the Director of Percussion. Duties may include, but are not limited to: Team-teaching 2-3 periods of 7th grade beginning band depending on each directors' strengths, directing the 8th grade concert band, assisting with the high school band (marching and concert), and 1-2 periods of middle school general music (as needed).

• create a class environment conducive to learning and personal growth

• establish effective rapport with pupils

• motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for Middle School Education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability

• formulate positive relationships with parents, students, and other staff members

• use formative and summative assessments with colleagues to improve student learning

• demonstrate effective communication within the school community

• adept with learning management systems and digital instruction (Canvas, Google Classroom, etc)

• attain or possess Google Level One Certification (Preferred)
