Job Posting:  Special Education Teacher 

Harrison School District is accepting applications for a middle school special educator position for the 2022-2023 school year. The position will be a full time (1.0 FTE) teaching position.  Applicants must possess appropriate Arkansas DESE certification. Previous experience is preferred, but not required. 

 Harrison School District is seeking an individual who will:

• create a class environment conducive to learning and personal growth

• create and deliver specialized instruction in accordance with CEC High Leverage Practices

• establish effective rapport with pupils

• motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to achieve at high levels

• provide quality special education services in inclusive environments

• formulate positive relationships with parents, students, and other staff members

• use progress monitoring data, building and state-level data, and behavior data to drive student programming

• develop and maintain compliant due process paperwork

• schedule and lead IEP meetings in accordance with Arkansas DESE rules and regulations

• demonstrate effective communication within the school community

• effectively manage paraprofessional(s) under your supervision

• effectively use learning management systems and digital resources (Canvas, Google Classroom, etc) for the provision of virtual learning.

• attain or possess Google Level One Certification
